Keyboard Studio Privacy Policy

Product scope

This policy applies to Keyboard Studio, including the containing App and the Keyboard Extension, for iPhone and iPad. It describes data practices of the developer of Keyboard Studio and the App itself. It does not describe every form of diagnostic or system data that Apple or the operating system may process independently of the developer.

Developer collection practices

Keyboard Studio does not sell user data. It requires no user account and includes no advertising, analytics service, behavioral tracking, server-side keyboard prediction, or cloud typing service. The developer does not operate a backend service that receives typed text, document context, swipe paths, Emoji searches, Quick Phrases, Personal Dictionary entries, or keyboard settings from Keyboard Studio.

Local storage

Quick Phrases, Personal Dictionary entries, customizations, and settings are stored locally. Data created or configured in Keyboard Studio remains on your device, subject to normal iOS storage behavior and optional local App Group sharing described below.

Typed text

Keyboard input used for supported typing functions is processed locally while the keyboard operates. Keyboard Studio does not upload typed text for candidate generation, prediction, or other server-side keyboard processing.

Document context

While the keyboard is active, supported typing functions may inspect text or document context made available by iOS. That context is processed locally for the current keyboard operation; Keyboard Studio does not upload it to a Keyboard Studio server or save host-application text as persistent user data.

Quick Phrases

Quick Phrases you create are stored locally. When Full Access is enabled, phrases created in the containing App may be available to the Keyboard Extension through the local App Group container. Quick Phrases are not uploaded by Keyboard Studio. Phrases remain on the device until you remove them or delete the App, subject to normal iOS behavior.

Personal Dictionary

Personal Dictionary entries you create are stored locally. When Full Access is enabled, entries created in the containing App may be available to the Keyboard Extension through the local App Group container. Personal Dictionary data is not uploaded by Keyboard Studio. Entries remain on the device until you remove them or delete the App, subject to normal iOS behavior.

Local candidates and autocorrection

Supported word candidates and optional autocorrection are generated on-device using local information and bundled lexical resources. Keyboard Studio does not provide cloud AI, server-side prediction, or remote personalization for these features.

Emoji search

Emoji are provided through a bundled catalog with local Unicode and CLDR-derived search information. Emoji search text is matched locally and is not sent to a Keyboard Studio server.

Swipe typing

Supported swipe typing is processed on-device. Keyboard Studio does not upload swipe paths or use a remote account or server to learn typing behavior.

Themes and customization

Built-in theme choices, key appearance, key size, spacing and geometry, Touch Area, layouts, Split and adaptive layout options, animations, Glow, sound and haptic preferences, text and label settings, and related configuration are stored locally. These settings customize the keyboard; they are not remote advertising profiles.

Photo Background

You choose a Photo Background through Apple’s system photo-selection interface. Keyboard Studio processes the selection locally, and an optimized or processed keyboard-background copy may be stored locally for keyboard use. Keyboard Studio does not upload the photo to a Keyboard Studio server. You can change, re-crop, or remove the selected background in the App.

Bundled ESDB lexicon

The built-in ESDB lexicon is bundled in the Keyboard Extension and operates offline. English Speller Database (ESDB), formerly SCOWL, is included for local lexicon features. Full license and attribution are available offline inside the Keyboard Studio App. Keyboard Studio does not claim ownership of ESDB.

Full Access

Allow Full Access is an iOS setting for third-party keyboards. Enabling it gives a keyboard additional system capabilities, which can include access to shared-container data and network capability. Full Access is optional; without it, basic typing, the bundled offline lexicon, gestures, layouts, and safe defaults remain available.

Keyboard Studio uses Full Access where applicable for supported local configuration sharing between the App and Keyboard Extension and for supported iOS keyboard feedback behavior.

Enabling Full Access does not cause Keyboard Studio to upload typed text, document context, swipe paths, Emoji searches, Personal Dictionary entries, Quick Phrases, photos, or settings. It does not create an account or activate advertising, analytics, behavioral tracking, server-side prediction, or a cloud typing service.

Local App Group sharing

When Full Access is enabled, settings, Quick Phrases, and Personal Dictionary data and other supported configuration may be shared between the Keyboard Studio App and Keyboard Studio keyboard extension through Apple’s local App Group container mechanism. This is local app-to-extension sharing, not cloud synchronization.

Sound and haptic feedback

Keyboard Studio uses supported iOS public system feedback facilities where available for keyboard sound and haptics. Availability and behavior can vary by device and iOS settings. Feedback does not require Keyboard Studio to transmit typed content.

Network access

The current product has no remote typing, prediction, Emoji-search, swipe, account, or cloud-sync service. Although iOS grants additional capabilities to a third-party keyboard when Full Access is enabled, Keyboard Studio does not use those capabilities to upload typed content or the local data described in this policy.

Analytics, tracking, and advertising

Keyboard Studio includes no analytics service, behavioral tracking, or advertising. It does not create advertising profiles from keyboard use.

Third-party SDKs

Keyboard Studio contains no analytics SDK, advertising SDK, account service, or cloud synchronization service.

Accounts and cloud services

Keyboard Studio does not provide an account system and does not operate a cloud synchronization service for keyboard data. Features described in this policy rely on local storage and, where enabled, local App Group sharing.

Children

Keyboard Studio is a general-audience keyboard product. The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children through Keyboard Studio, because the App is not designed to collect personal information from users.

Local data retention and deletion

Local Keyboard Studio data may remain on the device until you remove an individual item, change or reset the relevant configuration, or delete the App, depending on the feature and subject to normal iOS behavior. Because Keyboard Studio does not maintain a developer-operated cloud copy of your phrases, dictionary entries, or settings, there is no separate remote deletion request process or cloud recovery for that data. Deleted local data may not be recoverable. You can disable Full Access at any time in iOS Settings.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The Last Updated date at the top of this page will change when updates are published on this website. Continued use of Keyboard Studio after an update means you should review the revised policy.
